2.a Outline and data on the body organisation

 

Short description of the field of work of the body:

The Office carries out the following tasks:


  • coordination and monitoring of the implementation of the Development Strategy of Slovenia, as well as economic and social reforms;
  • monitoring and coordination of the Resolution on National Development Projects for the Period 2007-2023;
  • steering and coordination of the preparation of development documents of the Republic of Slovenia, monitoring of the implementation of development policies and competition policy, and the consistency of their implementation, as well as methodological links between the development policies and the target-oriented budget;
  • coordination of the preparation of programmes for attaining the Strategy for growth and jobs objectives in Slovenia and with the EU institutions;
  • together with competent line ministries and government offices it plans and coordinates positions of the Republic of Slovenia in the field of cooperation with the OECD;
  • ensuring the inter-ministerial coordination of strategic documents on the basis of which Slovenia receives EU budget funds and maintaining the dialogue with the European Union in this area;
  • steering the programme framework for the functioning of the Slovene Export and Development Bank (SID Bank), in cooperation with the responsible ministries and government offices;
  • in cooperation with the responsible ministries and government offices, coordination of the activities of the Republic of Slovenia and its representatives in the bodies of the European Union related to all areas, except the foreign policy and defence;
  • together with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, coordination of the activities of the Republic of Slovenia in negotiations on the association and accession of new countries to the European Union;
  • receiving, archiving, classifying and publishing EU documents, as well as adopting the Slovenian positions on these documents; this is carried out on the EU-Portal, which is an integral part of the government information system;
  • coordination of involvement of the Republic of Slovenia in the provision of EU financial and technical assistance to the third countries;
  • performance of tasks related to the EU instruments for pre-accession assistance and other types of assistance;
  • participation in international development cooperation;
  • performing other tasks in accordance with the Ordinance on the organization and competence of the Government Office for Development and European Affairs, other acts and Government decisions.
